February 21-Bishop Gordy Luke 4:1-13, Jesus will not be fooled After being filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus is led into the wilderness to be tempted by the evil one and does not fall prey to deceits and empty promises as God’s Son.
February 28 Luke 13:31-35, No Detour Neither Herod’s plotting nor Jerusalem’s resistance to maternal love will deter Jesus from his sacrificial mission for our sake.
March 7 Luke 13:1-9, It’s Time to Repent Asked about current tragic events, Jesus turns a lesson about whether suffering is deserved into a hard call to discipleship.
March 14 Luke 15:1-3,11b-32, With Open Arms In the Parable of the Prodigal Son, the father waits for his wayward son to return home with lots of love and open arms.
March 21 John 12:1-8, Lavish Love Judas misinterprets as waste Mary’s extravagant act of anointing Jesus’ feet with costly perfume.  Her gift is an expression of love and anticipates Jesus’ burial.


Sunday, March 28, 8:30 & 11:00 am Sunday of the Passion,
Maundy Thursday, April 1 Seder Meal begins at 6:00 pm followed by worship with Washing of Feet, Holy Communion, and Stripping of the Altar Good Friday Liturgy, April 2, Noon and Tenebrae Service at 7:00 pm Tenebrae is Latin for darkness.  The evening service features the darkening of worship space as the service nears its end and focuses on the sacrificial death of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Soup suppers begin at 5:30 pm (free will offering); Reservations in Sunday bulletins or call the church office (870-1236.) Holy Communion Services at 6:45 pm with guest preachers and baked bread used for Holy Communion provided by Lorraine Peterson.

                                                    
Trinity Lutheran Church will celebrate our 50th Anniversary in 2010.  On Saturday evening, April 24, 2010, we will have a celebration dinner and gathering with the Bishop and other special guests.  On Sunday, the 25th, we will have a festival worship service at 10:30 am.  We hope to see many past and present members there!
