Our Worship Team is responsible for all aspects of worship at Trinity. This covers all services, including funerals and weddings. Those 10 years old and up may serve as acolytes and assist the pastor during the service. We also encourage youth to participate by reading scripture and serving as greeters. Other aspects of the service that rely on volunteers would be setting up the altar for communion, ushering, hand bell or adult choir, and serving as assisting minister.
Social Missions - Social Missions has received a matching grant from Thrivent! The "Matthew 25 Neighbors in Need Challenge Grant" will match $.50 to the dollar from June 10th to September 30, up to a total of $5,000. This money will go a long way toward supporting our various missions, including the Chattanooga Food Bank Voucher program, Household and Personal Care Products, the Trinity Food Pantry, School Supplies for Northside Neighborhood House, "God's Work, Our Hands," and other programs being planned for the future. Please donate generously and help us serve those in need.
The Trinity Social Missions Team is a group of volunteers dedicated to the church reaching out to those in need. They purchase and box food for our food pantry, record and give out food vouchers to our community on Wednesdays, and participate with special projects downtown and with UTC. They also provide special toiletry bags once a year to our food voucher recipients along with cleaning supplies. Last year was the first year for "God's Work, Our Hands," and social missions headed up the effort to take a lunch and some supplies to Jay Cee Towers downtown. They will be involved in another campaign this year, to be announced later.
The Hospitality Team takes care of most meals at Trinity. Not only do they provide meals for our Annual Congregational Meeting, but they also provide wonderful fellowship opportunities, such as Valentine's Day Dinners, St. Patrick's Day Celebrations, and more. This is a hard-working group, but they have a great time, too.
The Care Committee includes a telephone prayer chain, visits to those in hospitals or nursing homes, Helping Hands (who cook and take meals to recently hospitalized or bereaved), and transportation to those needing to go to doctor's appointments.
The Evangelism Team works with the Pastor and the Trinity congregation in welcoming our guests on Sunday and letting them know that we appreciate their visit. They might send cards or make phone calls to our Sunday guests.
